Born in Munich in 1969, Erik Dreyer completed his studies at the State Academy of Photography in 1995. After several years as a permanent assistant to Hubertus Hamm and various freelance assistantships, including for Herlinde Koelbl and Ben Oyne (Paris), he set up his own studio in 1998. His passion is for the unusual in everyday life. His images are characterized by their clarity and conceptual visual language. By focusing on the essentials and staging his work to perfection down to the smallest detail, his work takes on a surreal and often humorous character.
